April is seeing many premieres and there is a myriad of sagueks right now. Among the much talked, highly hyped dramas like Gu Family Book and Jang Ok Jung, Live For Love, there is a comparatively low-keyed drama Mandate Of Heaven, that looks the most promising among all the shows. It is a thriller set in the Joseon times, in which Lee Dong Wook plays a royal physician who gets blamed for plotting assassination of the King and then he is on the run for his life and also to prove himself innocent. How many of you are confused with this coming season of drama premieres, as seriously there is a drama profusion in the next month of April. Wherever I see, I find stills or teasers or posters of forthcoming shows, and it’s so difficult to remember which one is gonna premiere when. But of course, there is a variety (well, sort of) for the viewers, but in a narrow way: there are sageuks (so many!!), rom-coms and thrillers. So I decided to make a list of upcoming shows so that it becomes easier to remember them. I excluded some of the shows like weekend ones and will make another enumeration for them in part 2. 2012 was the year of time travel and in the same manner, it seems as if 2013 is gonna belong to sageuks. At least for the spring season, what with so many historical dramas coming up: Lee Seung Gi-Suzy‘s Gu Family Book, Kim Tae Hee‘s Jang Ok Jung, Live For Love and now it’s Mandate Of Heaven.
