Despite being interested in some of the September premieres, I skipped all of them as there are tons of new shows starting in October and it will be extremely difficult to watch so many shows. And of course, the attractiveness is much higher in case of October shows. So here is a list of the slew of dramas starting next month:

Medical Top Team

Date: 9 October (Wed-Thur)

On: MBC

Stars: Kwon Sang Woo, Jung Ryu Won, Joo Ji Hoon, Oh Yeon Seo, Minho

About: A team of top medical experts of various fields and their power struggles.

My Opinion: The dichotomy regarding my interest: premise sounds utterly boring but the actors are irresistible (including my great love for Jung Ryu Won).

Empress Ki

Date: Late October (Mon-Tue)

On: MBC

Stars: Ha Ji Won, Joo Jin Mo, Ji Chang Wook.

About: Empress Ki, who is born in Goryeo and is taken to be the concubine of Yuan emperor. The historical show will depict her tumultuous life that involves becoming a concubine, then empress, falling in love and getting involved in politics.

My Opinion: Solid A-list cast. But 50 episodes/ sageuk/ PD of Dr. Jin are enough for me to skip this one.

Marry Him If You Dare

Date: 14 October (Mon-Tue)

On: KBS

Stars: Yoon Eun Hye, Lee Dong Gun, Jung Yong Hwa

About: Set in a broadcasting station, the show is about writer Mi Rae who meets her future self and the latter advises her to not marry the man who is her future husband.

My Opinion: Sounds cute and funny, and it has Lee Dong Gun (who is coming back to dramaland after a long time) and Jung Yong Hwa (who I really like). I’m also intrigued by the plot.

Heirs

Date: 9 October (Wed-Thur)

On: SBS

Stars: Lee Min Ho, Park Shin Hye, Kim Woo Bin, Choi Jin Hyuk and the list goes on and on and on….

About: Love and friendships of high school students studying at an elite school.

My Opinion: Do I need to describe this??? SUPER EXCITED!!! The plot looks clichéd and similar to Boys Before Flowers but the eye candy and my most favorite actors are enough to ignore that this time.

Unemployed Romance

Date: 5 October (Saturday)

On: E Channel

Stars: Lee Young Ah, Nam Goong Min.

About: An aspiring writer who lives off of unemployment checks while chasing her dream. At the unemployment benefits office, she meets her college sweetheart.

My Opinion: Not only the show sounds sweet and upbeat, it has the super plus point of having only 10 episodes in total (an extinct species in dramaland) and only one episode a week!!

Ghost-Seeing Detective Cheo Yong

Date: 6 October (Saturday)

On: OCN

Stars: Oh Ji Ho, Oh Ji Eun

About: A detective who can see ghosts.

My Opinion: This year is full of shows having ghost seers but I’m actually interested in this one as it looks filled with mystery and suspense. But I don’t see any promotional materials (except some teasers), considering it’s starting in a few days.

Answer Me 1994

Date: 18 October (Fri-Sat)

On: tvN

Stars: Go Ah Ra, Yoo Yun Suk, Kim Sung Kyun, Jung Woo

About: The social trends, basketball and pop idol culture of the early 90s.

My Opinion: Loved Answer Me 1997 and hopefully this show will contain the same warmth and awesomeness.

Basketball

Date: 21 October (Mon-Tue)

On: tvN

Stars: Do Ji Han, Lee Elliya, Park Ye Eun.

About: Young men who find solace in basketball during the Japanese occupation of Korea and will show the achievement of independence and division of Korea.

My Opinion: The drama looks refreshing and something new. Even the actors are all new. That increases its appeal.
