A completely pre-produced drama can have a double-edged sword as far as its promotion is concerned — since everything is ready, one gets a chance to show as much goodies as one can before the show hits the airwaves. On the other hand, there is a thing called too much publicity. Overall, I think it’s a positive step to film and complete dramas before they air. Forest Of Secrets is the last of the new bunch of shows to screen, a thriller with an aim to target the deep-rooted corruption in society.

The tvN show stars Jo Seung Woo (God’s Gift – 14 Days, The Classic) as an emotionless prosecutor and Bae Doo Na (Cloud Atlas, Sense 8) as a warm and righteous police officer who join hands to solve a series of murders and in the process, try to eradicate corruption and injustice. Costarring as fellow prosecutors are Lee Joon Hyuk (City Hunter, Naked Fireman) and Shin Hye Sun (Legend Of The Blue Sea, She Was Pretty). The main taglines is: everyone is a suspect.

Basically the drama will take us in a maze where secrets and conspiracies are abundant. The story doesn’t sound too exciting or should I say, as a mystery lover I ought to like it but there seems to be too many shows with the similar plot these days. So it is up to the drama to maintain that nail-biting tension and interesting arcs and characters to keep me invested. The cast is of course the main draw for me (I love Jo Seung Woo!) and thus, Forest Of Secrets is something I’m definitely going to watch.

Forest Of Secrets airs on Saturdays and Sundays. It just got premiered yesterday.
