Well, well, they said yes! It was reported a few weeks back that new drama Boyfriend is courting Song Hye Kyo and Park Bo Gum to star together. Of course, viewers got super excited or super wary of this pairing and finally both have confirmed to star together in this show. As for me, I’m quite indifferent for the couple but happy that they are making a comeback to dramaland. I love Park Bo Gum and this will be his first drama ever since hit Moonlight Drawn By Clouds in 2016 while Song Hye Kyo has not done any acting project since 2016’s megahit Descendants Of The Sun, she got married to Song Joong Ki after that and is finally returning with drama Boyfriend. All things said, I think the show is highly anticipated as two extremely popular stars as coming together.
Boyfriend stars Song Hye Kyo as a woman who belongs to a political family which leads her to an arranged marriage that results in a divorce. Park Bo Gum plays an optimistic, innocent man working part time and the show will tell their love story and struggles. There is a considerable age difference between the actors, so I guess that will also be a factor in their journey. But all noona-romance fans can rejoice!
Boyfriend is written by Yoo Young A who has penned wonderful films like Miracle in Cell No.7, My Paparotti, As One and My Annoying Brother but her dramas don’t make me much elated — Entertainer and Beautiful Man. The direction is by the PD of Hyde, Jekyll, Me and Jealousy Incarnate.
Boyfriend is yet to confirm a broadcast network and plans to air in late 2018.
