Well, after blockbuster Along With the Gods: The Last 49 Days, another star-studded film has just released on August 8 — The Spy Gone North. As the name suggests, the movie is a spy thriller set in the 90s starring Hwang Jung Min (Ode To My Father) as a South Korean spy who is sent to the north to find out about the nuclear program. Lee Sung Min (Misaeng) plays a North Korean official, as does Joo Ji Hoon (Goong, Mask; he is having so many releases this month!). Jo Jin Woong (Signal) plays the head of the National Intelligence Service. Wow, the cast is full of outstanding talent. The movie is directed by Yoon Jong Bin of Kundo : Age of the Rampant fame. The Spy Gone North was first screened at the Cannes Film Festival back in May and met with positive reviews. I think the movie has such a great ensemble, it’s worth a watch for them alone if nothing else.
