The long journey of Alchemy Of Souls finally completed this month. It began in June last year and was divided into two parts. Part 2 was marked with lots of talks on change of the female lead but I’m glad the discussions shifted to plot once the second instalment started. Overall, Alchemy Of Souls Part 2 encompasses the good elements of Part 1 and delivers a satisfying story and conclusion. But it never achieved the magic of Part 1. The second part also goes by the moniker Alchemy of Souls: Light and Shadow.

Alchemy Of Souls stole everyone’s heart when it aired a few months back. But viewers were divided when it was revealed that the main female lead, Jung So Min, won’t be appearing in the second installment of the fantasy sageuk. As for me, I was initially sad to hear the news but as we reached the conclusion of Part 1, it made sense to me as to why the female lead would change to Go Yoon Jung. It was ultimately Naksu who fell in love with Jang Uk (Lee Jae Wook) and it was her story. Continue reading →

Alchemy Of Souls is a swashbuckling, sweeping epic drama that has an eclectic mix of adventure, magic, romance, humor, thrills and darkness. It is a fantasy drama that’s set in the historical era and it efficiently tells its compelling story. This is part 1 of the drama and season 2 would arrive in December this year with remaining 10 episodes. Long but the ride is totally worth it! Continue reading →

If you are a regular reader of my blog, you must know that I LOVE the writing duo Hong Sisters. Their classic dramas, like Delightful Girl Choon Hyang, You’re Beautiful, Best Love, My Girlfriend Is A Gumhiho and My Girl, are responsible for my immense Korean drama love. I would say though that their last couple of shows after Master’s Sun – A Korean Odyssey, Warm and Cozy and Hotel Del Luna – have failed to gain my interest. But it hasn’t prevented me to get excited whenever I read about their new project! Continue reading →

But better late than never, right!. The writer duo’s new show Hotel Del Luna is again a fantasy after their Continue reading →

Full of laughs and full of warmth.
I really liked the subtle, soft and indie-like start of The Interest Of Love.
