I’m waiting for new Netflix drama Doona! with bells on! The show looks so romantic, it marks the return of Yang Se Jong (yay!), it is set in college (a rarity in dramaland) and it features the cohabitation trope that I really like.

Suzy (Anna, Start-Up) plays a former Kpop idol who has left behind her glamorous days and is now studying in college, majoring in theatre and film. Yang Se Jong plays an ordinary university student with a warm heart who starts living in the same share house as hers. The actor was so winsome in Thirty But Seventeen (2018) and his last small screen appearance was in Romantic Doctor, Teacher Kim 2 in a guest appearance. I have warmed up to Suzy’s acting too since the time I first saw her in Dream High.

Doona! is dropping all 9 episodes together (Did I tell you how much I love this new trend of shorter dramas?) and it is based on a webtoon. It premieres this week on October 20. The PD has prolific filmography with dramas like Crash Landing On You, Heartless City and Romance Is A Bonus Book under his belt.
