The Tyrant’s Chef is an upcoming tvN drama that previously starred Park Sung Hoon (Squid Game 2) in the lead role but now the role will be played by Lee Chae Min (Hierarchy) after the former left the drama due to a recent controversy. Love Next Door had all the ingredients of a perfect rom-com drama — popular and talented lead actors, friends-to-lovers trope, two sets of OTP, a slice-of-life vibe, the writer of Hometown Cha Cha Cha. Alas, the drama fails to give us a delicious dish. I’m keen to check out the new MBC drama Motel California despite its overdone premise of ‘exes to lovers’. The reason — it stars charming Lee Se Young and I’m liking the general vibe. The drama is based on a 2019 novel Home, Bitter Home by writer Shim Yun Seo. The screen adaptation is penned by the screenwriter of dramas 365: Repeat The Year (2020) and Swallow The Sun (2009).
