Rating failure but invariably loved School 2017 is passing the baton to similar themed drama Lingerie Girls’ Generation (also, Girls’ Generation 1979) in the Monday-Tuesday slot on KBS. It is about love, friendships and coming-of-age of high school girls, with one major additional feature — it is set in the late 70s. Also the drama will see Daegu as its location backdrop, another fresh element. Continue reading →

I’m eagerly waiting for the premiere of Strongest Deliveryman, which begins this week on 4th of August, in the new slot of Fridays and Saturdays for KBS, which till recently was home for universally loved The Best Hit (can’t wait to start it as well!). The drama tells the story of deliverymen and women who work so hard in their jobs Continue reading →

Jaejoong got discharged from mandatory military service last December and he is finally making a comeback to acting with KBS drama Manhole. It is a fantasy romance with travelling through time as its main theme. Jaejoong was last seen in thriller drama Spy in 2015. UEE has signed on to play the female lead. I loved to hate her in You’re Beautiful and since then she has done lots of main lead roles. Personally, I found her splendid in Ho Goo’s Love. Her last acting project was melodrama Night Light, which I Continue reading →

I loved The Producers, overall and especially in its initial days when it experimented with a brand new format of mixing elements of drama and variety, a mockumentary style to tell its narrative. Unfortunately it dropped that style to fit in with the large audience’s demand. The broadcast network KBS thankfully wanted to bring this refreshing treatment back again and hence, we have that in the form of The Best Hit. It’s a new variety-drama starting on June 2 in a new slot of Fridays and Saturdays, the same one which was invented for The Producers and later dropped. Continue reading →

This new KBS daily drama looks so sprightly and pleasant, perfect for a spring premiere. I don’t usually watch dailies but I like to read about them. Usually they are written in the same template but there are certain exceptions that can be found in the clichéd field that bring or at least try to bring some fresh factor with them. The first striking thing about this show is its name — The Rose of Sharon Has Bloomed (also called Lovers In Bloom). I don’t know what it has to do with the plot but the drama centers around a small police station. Continue reading →
