I never thought of picking up another weekend drama for a long time after You’re The Best Lee Soon Shin as it is seriously a case of cake not being worth the candle as spending 50 hours and then getting dissatisfied is not something I would want from my drama time. But the upcoming Hotel King has again enthralled me due to the My Girl reunion of Lee Dong Wook and Lee Da Hae which is something few and far between in Kdramaland. The set-up is a hotel where she is the heiress while he is the general manager. The drama has added a large number of names to its cast.

The hotel we are talking about in Hotel King is hotel CL. Im Seul Ong (of KPOP group 2AM and he last acted with Lee Dong Wook in last year’s Mandate Of Heaven) plays the hotelier and typical second lead with adjectives like loyal, helpful, smart and optimistic attached with his role. Wang Ji Hye (Protect The Boss) is playing ex girlfriend to Lee Dong Wook who later regrets for marrying another man for money and now wants to win him back (natch). She is also the manager of CL’s restaurant. Another idol to join the cast is AOA‘s Seolhyun who will play the only daughter of CL’s vice president. Well, we have more. VIXX’s N stars as one of the hotel staff members with cheerful and upbeat personality. This will be his first acting turn. Alex (Pasta) plays another employee in our hotel who has an international background. Gong Hyun Joo plays highly qualified employee who speaks six languages. The other actors added are Go Yoon (IRIS 2) and Ji Il Joo (Basketball). Phew. Oh we have more. The veteran actors signed on are Kim Hae Sook (I Hear Your Voice) and Lee Deok Hwa (Secret) who are starring as senior staff.

The weekend drama status explains the plethora of names we are seeing for Hotel King and even when I’m not too fascinated by the premise, I think the workplace set-up does make me happy. And yes, I’m bright-eyed and bushy-tailed just by the OTP that I’m gonna give this a try. Here are the pictures of recently held script reading and both of them are looking so good!
