Each year brings with it some particular trend that dominates the drama world throughout the year, with every other show following it and trying to milk on the success of that formula. I can say that there was one trend that I totally loved and supported wholeheartedly and that was the bevy of reunions that we received this year. It’s very special and new in K-dramaland because here, it’s like once in a blue moon that we ever get two stars working again for another project, however much success they got with the first one. I never thought of picking up another weekend drama for a long time after You’re The Best Lee Soon Shin as it is seriously a case of cake not being worth the candle as spending 50 hours and then getting dissatisfied is not something I would want from my drama time. But the upcoming Hotel King has again enthralled me due to the My Girl reunion of Lee Dong Wook and Lee Da Hae which is something few and far between in Kdramaland. The set-up is a hotel where she is the heiress while he is the general manager. The drama has added a large number of names to its cast. Continue reading →
