Onstyle is a cable network that airs programs related to beauty, style and fashion. But in an odd move, it is now bringing its first drama titled Because It’s the First Time this week and stars many up and coming actors that will portray a story about twenty something youngsters and their love lives and struggles. I’m actually interested to check this out as it looks very easy-breezy and I really have affection for Minho (for the record, I haven’t seen his acting yet).

Because It’s the First Time stars Minho (idol from pop band SHINee who has previously acted in dramas Medical Top Team and To The Beautiful You) as a free-spirited and cool person whose rooftop is the place for all the friends to hangout together. Park So Dam is the female lead. The actress has acted in lots of movies with many coming this year — The Throne, Veteran, The Silenced. This will be her drama début but she has acted in KBS drama special called Red Moon. She will play a hardworking Candy type girl who Minho’s character falls for. He will have a competitor in love as Kim Min Jae plays heroine’s coworker. He is currently starring as Choi Ji Woo‘s son in Twenty Again and I think he is very green in his acting. Lee Yi Kyung, whom I mostly remember from School 2013 but he has several shows under his belt like You From Another Star, Trot Lovers and recent Superman Age, plays a guy who wants to be a musical actor and does not have any experience in dating. Jo Hye Jung will play his love interest while Jung Yoo Jin (Heard It Through The Grapevine) stars as a popular girl.

The cast almost entirely consists of new comers or who are still quite green in the art. The plus point attached to the show is the fact that it comes from the writer of modern romcoms I Need Romance series and Discovery Of Romance (Although I haven’t seen any but have heard mostly good things about them) and the PD helmed I Need Romance and Witch’s Romance. So we can be assured for a nice romantic ride with a youthful and fresh take on the populated genre. But then I’m always happy to add one more to my list.

Because It’s the First Time starts this week on 7 October and will air once a week on Wednesdays. I really enjoy movies or dramas with multiple love stories and friendships and so this one is just right up my alley.
