Another weekend entrant! MBC is bringing You Are Too Much as its new show for the slot of Saturdays and Sundays following Blow Breeze and I have to say it looks very different from the usual weekenders that we see, all emitting an air of ‘copy and paste’. The show is a story about an ageing pop diva and a girl who desperately wants to become like her.

Uhm Jung Hwa plays a 90s pop star who has been very popular from past 20 years. Gu Hye Sun plays a hardworking girl who wants to become a singer like Uhm’s character and she also sings her songs on stage at a club. Jung  Kyeo Woon (Oh My Venus) plays a chaebol heir. I was on cloud nine when I read Jae Hee‘s (Delightful Girl Choon Hyang) name on the cast list but then I found out it’s just a cameo *sigh* Why, why, why???

The story sounds fun as we will see rivalry as well as bonding between the two main actresses. Uhm Jung Hwa was last seen in Witch’s Romance three years back while Gu Hye Sun’s last show was Blood in 2015.

You Are Too Much will have 50 episodes and comes from a team of weekend drama veterans behind the camera — writer of I Summon You, Gold and Make A Woman Cry, and director of My Daughter, Geum Sa Wol and May Queen.
