Descendants Of The Sun (2016) is one of the most popular Korean dramas of recent years and it was also a mega hit in terms of ratings. It was written by top writer Kim Eun Sook and now the writer and leading actress Song Hye Kyo are reuniting for a new drama. The title and synopsis has not been released yet but the show will start filming in the second half of 2021, with an air date at the end of the year or early 2022. The Korean series will be directed by the PD of Stranger (Forest Of Secrets), Memories of the Alhambra and Record of Youth.

Song Hye Kyo was last seen in Boyfriend (aka Encounter) back in 2018. I find her really gorgeous and I’m surprised that I have seen her acting in only Full House (another very popular dramas of 2000s). It certainly feels like I’ve seen her a lot more. The dramas from screenwriter Kim Eun Sook can be a hit or miss for me. I’ve liked the comedy in Goblin and Secret Garden, but I’m not a fan of the romance in her shows. Not to mention I was not impressed by her last drama The King: Eternal Monarch. Anyhow, I’m curious to know about the plot of this upcoming drama as well as who will be cast as the male lead.
