This is an interesting and unexpected pairing! Kang Ha Neul (Misaeng, When the Camellia Blooms) and Ha Ji Won (Secret Garden, Chocolate) are coming together in new KBS drama Curtain Call which is premiering this Monday. The premise and look reminds me of old school/ early 2000s dramas — which is actually refreshing in current era. I like both the actors a lot and count me in as an eager viewer for this show. The drama also stars Kwon Sang Woo (Mystery Queen) in an important role. Continue reading →

May I Help You? is the new MBC drama arriving on October 19. It is a fantasy romance about a funeral director who can see ghosts and a man who runs errands at a cost of 10 cents. The drama is penned by the writer of 20th Century Boy And Girl, who was also one of the writers of Reply 1997 — which surely makes me look forward to this one. Continue reading →

The premise of tvN’s new drama Under The Queen’s Umbrella (or The Queen’s Umbrella) sounds so refreshing. It is a historical drama about a queen who wants to properly educate her troublemaking sons in order to make them capable of becoming king, while the concubines are vying for the power too for their sons’ future. The upcoming TVING drama Yonder looks whimsical and dreamy. The premise explains why. It’s about a virtual reality world, set in the future, where one can live forever without death. The leads are Shin Ha Kyun (Beyond Evil, Brain) and Han Ji Min (One Spring Night, Our Blues ). Another notable thing — the drama is helmed by Lee Joon Ik, the director of acclaimed movies like The King And The Clown (2005), Sunny (2008) and Dongju: The Portrait Of A Poet (2016).
