Lee Min Ho in a new drama (yay!!)

Good news!! Lee Min Ho has signed on his next drama and it’s called  He Who Wishes To Wear the Crown, Endure Its Weight: Heirs. Okay, that’s it…nothing more, right?! Anyways, everyone is calling it Heirs for convenience, so let me also take this moniker as it will be a bit difficult to use the longer version. The show will be a romantic comedy, written by Kim Eun Sook, known for her hugely popular, similar genre dramas like Secret Garden and A Gentleman’s Dignity. It is another thing that I haven’t seen either of her works, but from what I read, everybody either loves them (a lot!!) or hates them. Continue reading

OCN investigation drama ‘Ten’ is all set for season 2

Well, to be more clear, it’s Special Affairs Team TEN, a crime procedural drama that garnered good reviews as well as ratings when it aired during 2011-2012. It is a story about a special crime unit called Ten that solves cases which have less than 10 percent chance of getting solved. I love such procedural, mystery-thriller shows, but as I cannot watch every drama out there and my list continues to gather dramas day by day, I have put a hold on going for any new entry in my plan-to-watch zone. I recently rewatched Dream High and found it equally good as I did during my first time. It is exactly about what the title suggests: chasing your dreams. It is about the victory of an underdog to achieve his dreams. The drama is not a unique one and has got a predictable premise, but when the characters win over your heart and you’re rooting for them to win, that’s all that really matters. Stardom and talent  can be very distinct from each other, and the drama stars all popular idols. But they together make it an endearing watch, even if they are not actors with perfection. How many of you are confused with this coming season of drama premieres, as seriously there is a drama profusion in the next month of April. Wherever I see, I find stills or teasers or posters of forthcoming shows, and it’s so difficult to remember which one is gonna premiere when. But of course, there is a variety (well, sort of) for the viewers, but in a narrow way: there are sageuks (so many!!), rom-coms and thrillers. So I decided to make a list of upcoming shows so that it becomes easier to remember them. I excluded some of the shows like weekend ones and will make another enumeration for them in part 2. Okay now, the title Birth Secret itself sounds so drama-ish for its extensive use throughout in dramaland, particularly in makjang shows. And the general dramas also happen to have a fondness towards the clandestine past stories, which usually form the latter part or provide the climax for our shows, after they complete their main story. So, when I first read about this latest entrant in the upcoming weekend drama galore, I found it really funny. Continue reading
