We have a new Seo In Guk drama! The title is Café Minamdang and it’s based on an eponymous web novel. It is about a swindling shaman who was once a profiler and who uses his sharp instincts to win his clients’ hearts. He runs a fortune teller shop Minamdang. Oh Yeon Seo, of shows A Korean Odyssey and Mad For Each Other, plays a detective in the violent crimes unit who somehow gets involved with the hero. Seo In Guk is one of my favorite actors but I could not get into his last drama Doom at Your Service. I’m hoping Café Minamdang provides me an enjoyable ride! Continue reading →

I found Ahn Hyo Seop absolutely adorable in his supporting role in 2018 drama Still 17 (aka Thirty But Seventeen). He has since starred in leading roles in shows like Abyss and Dr. Romantic 2 but I haven’t seen both so I’m not sure how he performed as the main lead. He has confirmed his next drama role in SBS romantic comedy Office Blind Date. In addition to this, he will be appearing in a historical role in upcoming drama Red Sky along with Kim Yoo Jung. I’m eagerly waiting for new tvN drama Mama Fairy And The Woodcutter as its plot sounds fascinating. It is based on a webtoon which itself is based on a Korean folktale called The Fairy And The Woodcutter. Moon Chae Won, whose last few shows were disappointing (Criminal Minds, Goodbye Mr. Black), plays the titular fairy and I must say she looks radiant in the teasers. Continue reading →

School 2013 was such a heartfelt drama. It was really moving and touched the deepest corners of my heart. The drama was full of new talent and went on to become springboard for budding talents like Lee Jong Suk and Kim Woo Bin. The show marked the revival of old School franchise of late 90s and early 2000s which itself formed the first step to success for many stars like Jang Hyuk, Bae Doo Na, Choi Kang Hee, Ha Ji Won, Jo In Sung, Lee Dong Wook, Im Soo Jung, etc. The last instalment was Who Are You – 2015, and now the series is back with its latest offering in the form of School 2017. Full of laughs and full of warmth.
I really liked the subtle, soft and indie-like start of The Interest Of Love.
