The long journey of Alchemy Of Souls finally completed this month. It began in June last year and was divided into two parts. Part 2 was marked with lots of talks on change of the female lead but I’m glad the discussions shifted to plot once the second instalment started. Overall, Alchemy Of Souls Part 2 encompasses the good elements of Part 1 and delivers a satisfying story and conclusion. But it never achieved the magic of Part 1. The second part also goes by the moniker Alchemy of Souls: Light and Shadow.

Alchemy Of Souls stole everyone’s heart when it aired a few months back. But viewers were divided when it was revealed that the main female lead, Jung So Min, won’t be appearing in the second installment of the fantasy sageuk. As for me, I was initially sad to hear the news but as we reached the conclusion of Part 1, it made sense to me as to why the female lead would change to Go Yoon Jung. It was ultimately Naksu who fell in love with Jang Uk (Lee Jae Wook) and it was her story. Continue reading →

I’m not a huge fan of historical Korean dramas (known as sageuks) ) but I love the fusion sageuks with a mix of romance and comedy and sometimes fantasy. The Forbidden Marriage is the latest in the category and I’m waiting for it with bells on. Plot (that sounds fun), cast and only 12 episodes are reasons enough to put it in my plan list. I recently started Shooting Stars and I already have a crush on Kim Young Dae. LOL. Continue reading →
