I was eagerly waiting with open arms to welcome Sooyoung in her next drama as I absolutely loved her in Dating Agency Cyrano where she was ebullient and heart of the show. It was a bonus that she had hot chemistry with Lee Jong Hyuk burning my screen and I loved that OTP even when their romance was not the main thing about the drama. Sooyoung is one of those idols who are good actors as well and I’m glad that she is now headlining melodrama My Spring Days for one of the big three networks. This MBC drama will star Kam Woo Sung as her leading man and his name doesn’t ring a bell for me (I’m still a newbie!) but I’ve heard a lot about his films and TV shows that include Alone In Love (with Son Ye Jin) and The King and the Clown (with Lee Jun Ki). The plot sounds totally like movie Return To Me in which a terminally ill woman receives heart transplant and then later falls in love with the husband of her donor, who is now a widower, raising two kids alone. I think I have issues with this plot because it is always confusing to think whether the man fell for the original girl or did he fall in love because she now has the heart of his beloved wife. I hope the drama clears it for us.
My Spring Days also stars Lee Joon Hyuk in his first acting project after returning from military duty. I really liked him in City Hunter. He is playing a cardiothoracic surgeon while Jang Shin Young will appear as head of PR department of the hospital and thus our love square gets completed. The show is being touted as a warm human drama. I’m right now indifferent towards the show as in spite of my adoration for Sooyoung, the rest of the cast is not exciting for me. Another factor is the flood of dramas left and right that I cannot make space for another one. The drama follows Fated To Love You and will hit the small screen from 10 September. The script reading took place a few weeks back. I think a great thing about Sooyoung is that she always has good chemistry with her costars, age gap or not. So I’m positively eyeing this show.
I’m definitely excited, as I’ve adored Kam Woo-Seong for a free years, now, I miss seeing him work. I hope this series is good enough to show him off.
I haven’t seen any of his shows or movies…but I’m looking forward to try My Spring Day as my first experience of watching him act 🙂
Well, you’ll probably never see better from him, acting-wise, than “The King & Clown,” “Spider Forest, & “Marriage is a Crazy Thing.” Really nice work in “Alone in Love,” (for a TV series), and he was super-hot in the film “R-Point,” (if sex appeal is a strong point. 😉 ) A Soo-Young fan told me that he is Soo-Young’s favorite actor. (Unless she was mistaken and it’s Jung Woo-Sung…. Lol!) 🙂 Cheers!
Wow….so many films…actually I don’t really watch K-movies nowadays as I find them somewhat weird…because they start off on some different tone and then abruptly change into another…but my interest in this drama has increased after reading this comment…
It must be great for Sooyoung as she’s working with her favorite 😉
I agree that Lee Joon Hyuk was terrific in City Hunter. You have made me curious about this drama. Thx!
Ya…and I felt so sad when his character died 😦
yay that this post helped you 🙂 My interest has also increased in this one since the day I wrote about it…
His character’s death in city hunter was not necessary. Oh well water under the bridge.
