tvN’s new kid on the block for its Friday-Saturday slot aka Marriage Not Dating premiered this week and I’m totally in love with it. It was a delightful one hour I spent with it and thought of writing my thoughts even before watching episode 2. First thing first — I loved the title track — it’s so breezy and candid with everyone looking great and fresh. The drama already impressed me with its beginning. I watched the opening more than once, that is how much I adored it!

Finally my rom-com drought is over with the premiere of Fated To Love You this week and I’m glad that it’s total fun and a joy to watch. Unless you were hiding under a rock, everyone knows that it’s a remake of a very popular Taiwanese drama of the same name. I haven’t seen the original, so I don’t have that extra baggage of expectations and comparisons. The show is full of slapstick comedy with over-the-top effect used to elevate the humour in certain scenes. But it’s great that on the other hand, we also get some cute and warm moments that give the show its heart. A nice balance between humour and heart. Continue reading →

In the sea of premieres, here is another kid on the block aka Doctor Stranger and it has started with total awesomeness. The heart-pounding thrills and action peppered with heartfelt emotions serves us the right amount of entertainment and fun, with the brilliant pace, making the drama totally compelling. I had this City Hunter and The King 2 Hearts feeling while watching the show which is definitely a good sign. Directing is by the PD of City Hunter and that explains a lot of feels and I can see so many actors from that show here as well. A nice mix of genres — action, romance, comedy, medical, political — makes it similar to The King 2 Hearts. Continue reading →

New MBC drama A New Leaf is here taking over the Wednesday – Thursday slot. I’m amazed how the show efficiently managed to smoothly move from comical situations to more serious and dramatic ones. We have been introduced to the players and their relationships and I liked the first week of the drama, which was a nice mix of everything — bickering leads, charismatic lawyers, unscrupulous  guys, thoughtful silences. I know I’m late to write my thoughts on Three Days which is well on its run with completing 6 episodes. Well, at first I was thinking of deconstructing after all the aired episodes but then that would have become a daunting task to accumulate so many things in a single post. So without further ado, let’s start. Continue reading →
