It looks like I travelled a distance of light years since I last adored a drama this much and now there is not one but three fantastic dramas in my treasure: High School King Of Savvy, Fated To Love You and Marriage Not Dating. Adorableness is the name of the game for my current drama world. You can measure my love for tvN’s Marriage Not Dating by the three back to back posts I wrote about it. It gives just the right amount of bubbliness and fun and hits all the right Continue reading

Marriage Not Dating: Episode 2

Wow. It seems like we will be getting a nice, complex love hexagon in Marriage Not Dating as we saw all six main characters connecting with each other in some way or the other and reminding me of the ‘match the column’ exercise we used to do in school  LOL. I liked episode 2 that cemented the main plot of a deal between our protagonists — Jang Mi and Ki Tae — he needs her to convince his family against his marriage while he suggests her that she can also have advantage by taking revenge from Hoon Dong. I love that we have a hero who is not Continue reading

tvN’s new kid on the block for its Friday-Saturday slot aka Marriage Not Dating premiered this week and I’m totally in love with it. It was a delightful one hour I spent with it and thought of writing my thoughts even before watching episode 2. First thing first — I loved the title track — it’s so breezy and candid with everyone looking great and fresh. The drama already impressed me with its beginning. I watched the opening more than once, that is how much I adored it!

Finally my rom-com drought is over with the premiere of Fated To Love You this week and I’m glad that it’s total fun and a joy to watch. Unless you were hiding under a rock, everyone knows that it’s a remake of a very popular Taiwanese drama of the same name. I haven’t seen the original, so I don’t have that extra baggage of expectations and comparisons. The show is full of slapstick comedy with over-the-top effect used to elevate the humour in certain scenes. But it’s great that on the other hand, we also get some cute and warm moments that give the show its heart. A nice balance between humour and heart. Continue reading

Another cute rom-com ‘Marriage Not Dating’ premieres this week

Yay for another rom-com premiere right around the corner. Popular cable network tvN is bringing Marriage Not Dating as its new Friday-Saturday show that replaces serial killer thriller Gapdong. I did watch the latter but found it very slow and so dropped it even when the premise as well as the cast was interesting. Another reason was that I just had enough thriller K-dramas and wanted a fresh air of romance and fun. I think drama gods heard my prayers as this summer season is just full of them, what with Trot Lovers and High School King Of Savvy already airing and Fated To Love You starting this week. I actually want to watch ALL of them and will watch some live while the others will have to wait for a later marathon. Continue reading
