There are certain elements that one expects before watching a Park Hye Ryun drama (Dream High, I Hear Your Voice, Pinocchio) — warmth from everyday lives of the characters, humour, flawed but immensely likeable leads, moral values, high stakes — and the new SBS drama While You Were Sleeping fits seamlessly into this description. After 4 episodes, my first impression is that I really like it! For all the reasons I listed above and more. Continue reading →

I feel like it has been ages since this drama was first announced! While You Were Sleeping is the name of the highly anticipated SBS show that stars hot pair of Lee Jong Suk and Suzy (Uncontrollably Fond) and comes from writer Park Hye Ryun, who has given us sublime dramas like Dream High, I Hear Your Voice and Pinocchio. I love how immaculately she blends humour, heart and thrills; laced with ideals and Continue reading →

Another pair of two hot stars is entering dramaverse — Lee Jong Suk and Suzy have been cast as leads for upcoming SBS drama While You Were Sleeping. It has become highly anticipated not only because of the leads but also for the major fact that it comes from writer Park Hye Ryun, who has penned highly lauded and successful dramas like I Hear Your Voice, Pinocchio, Dream High and her latest being the mini Continue reading →

A Japanese drama remake titled This Week, My Wife Will Have an Affair just premiered this weekend (yesterday) on JTBC and stars Lee Sun Kyun and Song Ji Hyo (The Ex-Girlfriend’s Club) in the lead roles. I think this show had relatively less buzz in its promotion but the plot sounds interesting. It’s great to see Lee Sun Kyun making a drama comeback as his last show was Miss Korea in 2013-14. I wonder if the follow-up drama to KBS rating juggernaut Descendants Of The Sun is garnering much interest. It is Master: God of Noodles and at first I thought it was about some chef and his culinary skills. But the show is actually a revenge tale where Chun Jung Myung (Heart To Heart) plays a man who loses everything and then Continue reading →

Full of laughs and full of warmth.
I really liked the subtle, soft and indie-like start of The Interest Of Love.
