I think the upcoming drama on MBC, Man Who Dies to Live, is comparatively floating under the radar, but looks promising to be a laugh riot. It stars acting power house Choi Min Soo in the lead role as a man who left his home in the 70s in search of fortune and went to a fictional Arabian kingdom. He gets settled there and becomes rich with a new name, Count Souad Fahd Ali. Years later, he returns to Korea and comes face to face with his daughter, played by Kang Ye Won. She is an aspiring writer and has a husband — Shin Sung Rok in a rare comic role.  Continue reading →

Has this ever happened to you that you want to watch a drama because you loved its title? Well, it’s certainly a first for me. I really liked the name of the new show on KBS — On The Way To The Airport — it sounds very poetic, different, like an incomplete story, and then mix it with the moody, beautiful posters featuring a forest area with the leads — the combination resulted in me deciding to give this show a try. Liar Game takes the viewers on a roller coaster ride by offering continuous thrills and chills. It succeeds as a taut, intelligent thriller where nothing sticks out a mile. The drama is remake of a Japanese manga series of the same name and blends the original material with K-drama ingredients to have a flavour of its own. Continue reading →

I’m so sad that Liar Game is ending next week. Normally I complain about the long length of dramas but now when I’m hooked to a show which is in total of 12 episodes long, I’m not ready to say goodbye to it yet. I really hope that there is a season 2 in store for us! This week was pretty intense in Liar Game as we came to see what happens when Continue reading →

I have lots of love for Seo In Gook. It started with Answer Me 1997 and this year’s High School King Of Savvy rekindled my affection for him. In all possibilities, I should have been tickled pink with the announcement of his next drama but I’m as interested in The King’s Face as I would be in watching paint dry. Firstly, it’s a sageuk and secondly, the premise doesn’t look appealing to me. But I wish all the very best to him with this show Continue reading →
