Fantasy is a genre where one can play with a lot of elements as the fantasy window gives a platform for plots which require suspension of disbelief. The new tvN show Melting Me Softly is bringing sci-fi kind of fantasy where the hero and heroine both remain frozen for 20 years after an experiment goes wrong as they were originally supposed to stay like that for 24 hours only. This actually reminds me of Thirty But Seventeen where the only difference was that the heroine Continue reading →

When The Camellia Blooms is like a breath of fresh air. Firstly, it is set in a countryside rather than Seoul which forms the backdrop of maximum dramas. The show also has two lead protagonists with amusing personalities. The drama is airing on KBS as well as Netflix and is off to a breezy start. Continue reading →

Hotel Del Luna has gained ratings as well as popularity since its premiere back in July. I started it but currently its status is on hold for me, leaning towards dropped category as my interest is very minimal for this fantasy show. I like the setting, acting, music, characters, IU‘s costumes. But somehow it lacks that magic that I expect from the writers, my favorite, the Hong Sisters. Or else, I’m unsuccessful in funding that hook which enables me to continue a drama. Or the Master’s Sun-esque episodic format is the downside. Maybe I will get back to it when in the right mood. This one surely looks chilling! Im Shi Wan, who was fantastic in his breakthrough role in 2014’s Misaeng, is returning to dramaland post his army duty with OCN’s thriller Strangers From Hell and kudos for choosing an atypical drama! He stars as a man moving to big city Seoul from a small town when he gets a job there and taking up residence in an apartment building where all his neighbours Continue reading →

I never knew I could say political drama and family drama in a single sentence but the new tvN drama The Great Show is mixing the two unassociated genres and looks super adorable. It is headlined by Song Seung Heon who plays a former politician who is desperately trying to go back to being elected and joining the National Assembly. One day, he meets an 18 year old girl Continue reading →
