MBC is beginning the new year of its Monday-Tuesday slot with a sageuk and it’s titled Rebel: Thief Who Stole the People. The previous drama to occupy this timeline was low rated Night Light (which I’m planning to check out) — not its fault as it was against rating winner Romantic Teacher Doctor Kim. Anyway, Rebel: Thief Who Stole the People is set in the Joseon times and has famous folk hero Hong Gil Dong at its center. Continue reading

Blame it on my relatively drama-less life right now that I didn’t even realise that Oh Hae Young Again premiered this Monday, a tvN romantic comedy that I was really excited for. My anticipation primarily comes from the main leads. I loved Eric in Que Sera Sera and Seo Hyun Jin in Three Musketeers and hence, once I read that they will act opposite each other, and that too in a rom-com, I was definitely a happy camper for this drama. I haven’t seen Gu Hye Sun in anything else other than the off-the-charts popular and hit Boys Before Flowers where I had a mixed opinion about her performance. She was good at some parts but mostly I felt that there was a lot of over-acting on her part and it didn’t help that the chemistry with Lee Min Ho was one-sided. Weekend drama Wonderful Mama is gearing up for its premiere this week, i.e., on April 13 on SBS and it is planning to have about 50 episodes (it is a family weekend drama after all). The show is a heartwarming tale about a single mother (Bae Jong Ok) who goes from being a small shop owner to a billionaire loan shark with three spoiled children who learn to grow up in life when she is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s.
