Because It’s The First Time marked first foray into dramaland for fashion and style channel OnStyle last week. It will air only one episode a week and my love for everything romantic and comedy let me to check this one out. It’s a cute, simple and breezy start. The drama is anchored behind the scenes by the team responsible for modern rom-coms like I Need Romance and Witch’s Romance. Another icing — episodes are only 45 minutes long!

So without further ado, let’s begin the recap. Continue reading →

Finally we have some news on the KBS romantic comedy that will feature So Ji Sub and Shin Min Ah, two actors immensely popular and a dream pair for most (me included), especially since they did some advertisements and photoshoots together. The drama that was initially titled Oh My God has got a new name — Oh My Venus (good thing as the earlier one sounded so much similar to Oh My Ghostess). The scheduled slot will be Monday and Tuesday as it will follow currently airing Sassy Go, Go and thus it will hit the airwaves earlier than I expected, which is sometime in November. Yay! Awl is the forthcoming drama on cabel channel JTBC and stars Ji Hyun Woo in the lead role. It certainly has a low buzz surrounding it but has all the signs of becoming the dark horse in this never-ending race of TV shows and popularity. I loved Ji Hyun Woo as the hero with brains and gentleman qualities in time travel romance Queen In Hyun’s Man. He then went for mandatory military service and made a comeback with disappointing Trot Lovers (his hair in that show was one of the reasons I was hesitant to even give it a try. It didn’t help that the reviews were all negative across the board). Now he is coming back with a show about struggle of common man and it’s quite a departure from his last few roles. In a good way of course. Continue reading →

I loved Answer Me 1997 with every beat of my heart and that drama perfectly combined an infinite range of emotions, all sprinkled with the nostalgic feeling of the 90s and also helped in understanding the similarities and differences between my culture and South Korea’s in that era. I planned on marathoning its successor Answer Me 1994 but Continue reading →

I’m champing at the bit for upcoming mystery thriller The Village: Achiara’s Secret (or simply The Village) as it looks soaked in mystery, suspense, creepiness and secrets. Not to mention the setting, in a village, that contributes in spades in making the show atmospheric and extra eerie. The drama is about the discovery of a dead body in a peaceful village/ town named Achiara where no criminal cases ever occur. Continue reading →
