It looks like the topic I have written the most about in my casting news, since I started my blog, is the historical genre. There seems to be no end to the reports related to sageuks as this year has seen so many of them, which includes three ongoing right now. I’m on the fence about Jang Ok Jung, Live For Love: the reason to it is that my initial attraction towards it, Jae Hee, has still not appeared after 8 episodes and the drama seems like possibly it will have a sad ending. Sageuks, sageuks and more sageuks. It seems 2013 will be the year of sageuks just like 2012 was the year of time travel. Our screens are already full of the deluge namely Gu Family Book, Jang ok Jung, Live For Love, Mandate Of Heaven and upcoming Goddess Of Fire, Jeong-yi and now we have another addition to the historical genre: Sword And Flower, which stars Uhm Tae Woong and Kim Ok Bin in the lead roles. It is a period romance set in the Goguryeo era and will tell the story of lovers who are forced to choose between love or revenge due to family strife and contention. The heroine falls in love with the son of the man who killed her father. Continue reading

I loved Yoo Ah In in Sungkyunkwan Scandal, but then who didn’t?? He was sooooooo amazing in the role of rebellious Moon Jae Shin and his bromance with Song Joong Ki is one of the best in dramaland. Their camaraderie was superb and I loved the wild look of Yoo Ah In in the sageuk that came in 2010. After that, he starred in last year’s Fashion King, which is one of the worst shows ever. I could watch it for only 4 or 5 episodes and found him doing over acting at times. But of course, Yoo Ah In is a good actor and I just want to forget Fashion King ever happened. Continue reading
