One of the most awaited dramas of 2018, Boyfriend aka Encounter has completed 3 weeks of its run and quite successfully in terms of ratings. As for the review by the viewers, there is a mix impression. Some love it and some found it boring and moved on. As for me, I have mixed feelings about it, to the point that I was ready to drop it after episode 3 but the ending of episode 4 brought me back on the train. Continue reading →

We have our final premiere for this year, 2018, in the form of My Strange Hero. The drama has several other titles floating around — Revenge Returns, Bok Soo’s Back and Revenge is Back. It looks like a funny, cute and light-hearted romantic comedy with a cute cast. Yoo Seung Ho (I’m Not A Robot) plays the titular hero, Bok Soo, who returns to his school as a teacher after Continue reading →

Oh this drama looks so youthful, warm and fresh! It is called Dance Sports Girls and as the name suggests, it is a coming-of-age story about the girls of the dance sports club of Geoje Girl’s Vocational High School. Geoje is a coastal city in South Korea with a declining ship building industry. The setting is surely something new in dramaland. The protagonists are girls who are passionate about dancing and the drama will tell about them entering a dance competition. The show is based on an award-winning documentary of the same name. I have only seen Shin Ha Kyun in a few episodes of comedy drama Mr. Back that aired in 2014, which he followed with Pied Piper in 2016 and is now returning to small screen with thriller Less Than Evil aka Bad Detective. It is a Korean remake of acclaimed BBC series Luther and stars Shin Ha Kyun as a fierce detective who is gritty, lonely and violent in his ways and thus treads the line Continue reading →

This week marks the premieres of two highly anticipated dramas of 2018. The year is ending in few days and I guess these two shows will probably be included in next year’s lists. Boyfriend (also, Encounter) arrived on Wednesday and now Memories Of The Alhambra is starting today with Hyun Bin and Park Shin Hye. It’s interesting to note that both the shows are being aired on cable network tvN. That definitely signifies how strong the network has become. Continue reading →
