I’m so happy to see that female characters are forming the fulcrum of upcoming JTBC drama. It’s quite interesting that Man To Man is passing the baton to Woman Of Dignity in the Friday-Saturday slot for the cable network. The show stars Kim Hee Sun and Kim Sun Ah in the lead roles. Continue reading

Now that the dust is settled on the plethora of premieres that were too overwhelming to receive at such a fast pace, it’s time to see how the rating chart has been shaken up. I don’t really believe that there is directly proportional relationship between a drama rating and its quality or how good it is (which is also subjective, especially in case of Kdramas), but it’s good to check out which cast and crew ruled the hearts of majority of domestic viewers — no small feat in this era of online viewing and multiple entertainment options. A completely pre-produced drama can have a double-edged sword as far as its promotion is concerned — since everything is ready, one gets a chance to show as much goodies as one can before the show hits the airwaves. On the other hand, there is a thing called too much publicity. Overall, I think it’s a positive step to film and complete dramas before they air. Forest Of Secrets is the last of the new bunch of shows to screen, a thriller with an aim to target the deep-rooted corruption in society. Continue reading

Coffee House was one of those dramas that made me realise what it’s like to board a wrong ship! Total heartbreak! I totally rooted for [SPOILER ALERT] Kang Ji Hwan and Ham Eun Jung’s characters but it was actually a great thing the show did to subvert expectations and clichéd plotline by actually being a love story of two best friends.
