Now this is what I call a large-scale show from every angle. The Lonely Shining Goblin or simply Goblin screams blockbuster from its very first frame. It has a movie-like quality, especially in its sageuk scenes (the history portion) and it is grand, not only in style but also in content. And of course, the star cast includes the hottest names. Hit drama writer Kim Eun Sook has another ratings winner in her successful filmography. Continue reading →

I hope it doesn’t sound like a broken record when I say I’m not a sageuk fan. But I do give them a try once in a while if they garner my attention for one reason or the other. Usually it’s the fusion sageuk aka historical drama with modern elements that makes me interested. I recently watched Moonlight Drawn By Clouds and looks like I’m going to add one more in my micro-list — Hwarang: The Beginning, the new drama for KBS. When no one provides any answers, the students decide to take the matter in their hands and conduct an independent trial. Kim Hyun Soo (the actress who played young Chun Song Yi in You From Another Star) plays a model student while Jo Jae Hyun (Punch) plays school’s legal counsel. Continue reading →

After Legend Of The Blue Sea, there is one more premiere left that has the tag of “one of the most anticipated dramas of 2016” — The Lonely Shining Goblin or simply Goblin. Despite not being a fan of the writer’s dramas, I’m looking forward to this one as it has Gong Yoo! I said the same for Descendants Of The Sun (Song Joong Ki!) and Continue reading →

I really liked Jin Goo when I first saw him in Ad Genius Lee Tae Baek in 2013. It didn’t get good ratings and the reviews were just average, including my own. He mainly did films and then this year he received huge popularity due to megahit drama Descendants Of The Sun. He is back with a new drama titled Night Light and well, it looks like an Continue reading →
