I just started What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim (also, Why Secretary Kim) so it’s too early for me to gauge a first impression (had to put it on hold for some other work) but I liked what I saw in few minutes into the show. I got some idea about the characters, though the dynamics I still have to observe. The drama garnered good ratings in its premiere week on tvN — 5.8% and 5.4% for first and second episode respectively (source). Planning to marathon the first 2 episodes very soon and get on the live bandwagon. Continue reading →

I’m totally bright-eyed and bushy-tailed for the upcoming tvN romantic comedy What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim (also, Why Secretary Kim). It has got perfect rom-com leads in Park Seo Joon (Witch’s Romance. She Was Pretty, Fight My Way) and Park Min Young (Sungkyunkwan Scandal, City Hunter, Healer) who have Continue reading →

I love, love, love the best-friends-to-lovers trope in fictional romance from the bottom of my heart and this is the very first reason for my uber excitement for upcoming KBS romcom drama Fight My Way (or Third-rate My Way). The second being the leads — Park Seo Joon (last seen in a sageuk role in Hwarang) and Kim Ji Won (finally landing a leading role after doing memorable supporting ones in megahits like Descendants Of The Sun and Heirs). Thirdly, the main dynamics with the second leads, who have a relationship of their own instead of wasting time in meddling with the main Continue reading →

I hope it doesn’t sound like a broken record when I say I’m not a sageuk fan. But I do give them a try once in a while if they garner my attention for one reason or the other. Usually it’s the fusion sageuk aka historical drama with modern elements that makes me interested. I recently watched Moonlight Drawn By Clouds and looks like I’m going to add one more in my micro-list — Hwarang: The Beginning, the new drama for KBS. It is fully pre-produced and it’s giving a youthful, light vibe so far. Continue reading →

She Was Pretty is what I would call a kdrama rom-com in its truest sense. But in a good way of course. It is easy, feel-good, romantic, funny, full of typical love ballads, love-squared and add all other good adjectives for a kdrama minus all the melodramatic and sad ones. Nothing great, but exciting enough to make it a pleasant ride. Continue reading →
