I’m deliriously happy in relation to upcoming romantic comedy drama Suspicious Partner as it seems to have everything I want in my K-drama. It stars Ji Chang Wook in a romcom! His first since a long time as his last few shows/movies have been all action ones (Healer, The K2, Fabricated City) even though they did have romantic sprinklings. Although sageuks never cause an increment in my excitement meter for a show, upcoming romance drama Ruler: Master of the Mask does make me a bit interested. It is mostly due to the cast, comprising young talents Yoo Seung Ho and Kim So Hyun in the lead roles. Frankly speaking, I haven’t seen any of his dramas before and have seen her in only minor roles (except maybe Goblin, where her role cannot be considered minor). But I have read so many good things about these two and know how amazing she is, and looks so graceful in a sageuk; it definitely had to be a positive feeling for Ruler: Master of the Mask. I had to do a double take when I read that the cable channel known for dark, gritty, serious thrillers, OCN, will be airing a romantic comedy show! Yep guys, this news is surprising but refreshing. Not only that, it looks like your typical classic candy floss rom-com drama (that we all LOVE, heh), which again is surprising as I thought being a cable network, it would choose something offbeat and different. Anyway, I’m totally excited for My Secret Romance as it is just what the doctor ordered. It definitely reminds me of fluffy Taiwanese romcoms from its posters.
